PAST |
| |
Hughes Investigation has a rich history dating back to 1930. The company was formed at downtown Los Angeles by a college student named Weddington “W.W.” Hughes. |
| |
While attending law school, Hughes discovered the flourishing legal community lacked quality investigation services and instead of pursuing a career in law, chose to hone his skills as a private investigator. |
| |
Despite the Great Depression and World War II, Hughes forged ahead with his vision and established relationships with many of the largest downtown corporate law firms. Some of these relationships continue today with firms such as O’Melveny & Myers, Latham & Watkins, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Rutan & Tucker and Burke, Williams & Sorensen. |
| |

In 1959 "W.W." Hughes passed away from a sudden illness and his son in-law assumed business operations. Throughout the 60’s and into the 80’s, Hughes Investigation strengthened its relationships with existing clients and developed a specialty niche for civil litigation support. In 1988, Craig Bassham joined Hughes Investigation. |
| |

Craig Bassham continued to develop several specialty areas of investigation, including; Real Property Investigations, Eminent Domain Assistance and Cell Phone Research. By the mid 90’s, Hughes Investigation increased its service areas to include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties, and opened another office in Anaheim.
